For over 17 years, the St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation has held their annual Anne & Neil McArthur Memorial Golf Tournament at Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club. The tournament has raised over $1M in this time, and is one of their largest fundraising events of the year. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the 2020 tournament had to be canceled.

Many members at Dundas Valley G&CC have deep connections with St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, ON; with family, friends, and loved ones residing in the assisted living and long-term care facilities at one time or another. It is this deep relationship & connection between the Club and the Villa that sparked an idea to help out.

The Fun is Back in Fundraising

On Thursday, September 24th, Dundas Valley G&CC members joined together to support St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation and Margaret’s Place Hospice through contributions from on-course and patio games. With a small donation, golfers took aim to win instant prizes, enter into draws for grand prizes, and enjoy a special day to support their local community.

The Club donated $1 from every meal special purchase, as well as the featured drink of the day, Margaret’s Mule. Members and guests enjoyed safe, socially-distanced live music from The Jade Monkeys, and wheel & table games safely administered from Jack of All Spades.

In a year filled with so much uncertainty, members celebrated the opportunity to have fun and give back to a their local community.

Margaret’s Place Hospice

Margaret’s Place Hospice at St. Joseph’s Villa will ensure that patients and families, for years to come, will have access to the compassionate end-of-life care that St. Joseph’s Villa is known for. It will be a place where “families can be families,” knowing their loved ones receive the best of care in a home environment.

While the Ministry of Health provides partial funding for Hospice, they don’t cover it all. St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation is looking to the community to support programming, therapy, meals, and so much more.

Thanks to the generosity and inspiration of our donors, volunteers and community partners, together, we have been able to create a better home and a better life for thousands of residents and families.

Together our future is bright! We thank you for your kindness and friendship. We know that with your support, anything is possible!
